The Immortal Calls Out ‘Piece of Sh-t’ Snoop Dogg For Insulting Conor McGregor…

UFC welterweight Matt Brown has made it clear that he does not respect Snoop Dogg. The rapper has become associated with mixed martial arts because of his personal fight commentaries on Instagram. Brown vented to Joe Rogan how frustrating it is that high profile media figures can go on social media and negatively commentate on fight results.

Snoop Dogg infamously called Daniel Cormier a ‘bitch’ after his emotional response to losing to Jon Jones. He said the same thing about Conor McGregor after his defeat to Floyd Mayweather. Brown has no time for people who do not show respect for fighters and the difficulties that they endure.

In a revealing and insightful interview on Rogan’s MMA Show, Brown told Rogan about his past drug addictions and his personal journey into MMA, which he credits with saving his life. He also made clear his admiration for McGregor’s personal achievements and how he has handled being in the fight game.

‘Not Cool’

Brown made his frustration clear when the pair began to talk about commentary in Sports. Rogan mentioned how ‘insult commentary’ has been a problem that he has fought against throughout his career. Straight away the Ohio-native let loose with an astonishing verbal attack on Snoop Dogg:

“Snoop Dogg, that piece of sh-t. I’ll call him out,” Brown said. “He called Conor a b-tch. That’s not cool, man. He put it on public. He could’ve apologized, deleted it, whatever. If I go the UFC Performance Institute, I might just punch him.”

Respect for McGregor

Brown also came out in passionate defence of Conor McGregor. The Irishman is one of the most divisive figures in MMA. However, Brown had nothing but respect for the ‘Notorious’ and the work that he has done to achieve so much in the UFC.

“That really offends me, man,” Brown said. “People have their opinions about (Conor), I respect the sh-t out of that guy. I love what he’s done, I love his shtick. I think he’s a true sportsman. I like that he comes into the limelight for a little while then he goes back, and I think he goes back and he works his ass off. He wouldn’t be where he’s at if he didn’t, right?”

Many fans and so-called experts forget that McGregor has built a brand out of nothing. MMA fighters’ careers are short and high-risk. Athletes put their bodies on the line, often for little financial reward.

Show Respect

‘The Immortal’ addressed the fact that many professional commentators are also too critical of athletes. He specifically namedropped ESPN’s Stephen A Smith as an example. Brown said:

“I would say also that they (sports commentators) have no right to be saying things that they have never done, right?”

It’s a fair point. It’s difficult to respect and understand the adversity and challenges of a fighter unless you have a background in combat sports. MMA commentators like Jimmy Smith and Joe Rogan are so good at their jobs because they have trained in martial arts.
