After his recent victory at Bellator 301, Patchy Mix hopes to get the shot again to fight his lone conqueror, Juan Archuleta. With Bellator now under PFL, “No Love” is pushing the idea.

Mix made a remarkable fight against Sergio Pettis last Friday by making a submission win after performing a rear-naked choke in their bantamweight bout. The battle ended at 1:51 of Round 2, with Mix claiming another victory to add to his career record. However, there is one blemish in his slate made by Archuleta in 2020. Mix thinks the only way to resolve this is through a rematch that needs to win.

Archuleta’s last fight under Bellator was in December 2022 when he faced Soo Chul Kim in the Bellator MMA Vs. RIZIN event. After his success in that bout, “The Spaniard” took more fight under RIZIN, although he’s still signed under Bellator. Archuleta said he’d return to Bellator after winning the title to unify the belts. Mix, nonetheless, has a different plan.

With Bellator now under PFL, Mix hopes a rematch between them will be pushed. According to Mix, he has already defeated big names in his division, and the only dragon to slay is Archuleta.

“I have [almost] cleared out the division, one through five,” Mix said. “No. 1, Sergio Pettis, I’ve beat him. No. 2 Raufeon Stots [I beat him], No. 3 is [Juan] Archuleta, No. 4 is [Magomed Magomedov] and No. 5 is Kyoji Horiguchi, so I’ve beat four out of five. There’s one guy sitting there, and there’s only one fight to make. I’ve been chasing it since the day it happened, and it has to happen. Why not make me versus Juan Archuleta?”

The Spaniard defeated Mix via unanimous decision in their fight years ago. Nonetheless, Mix believes he’s improved a lot, especially now that he owns a six-fight winning streak after that loss.

“I’m coming back stronger than ever,” Mix said. “I made mistakes in that first fight that I’ll never make again. I believe I could put him away. That’s what I want to do. I want to fight him. I want to finish him, and I want to right my record correctly again.

“I’m way different now. I’m a butcher in there. Imagine that. What if I butchered and finished him? I’m 20-1, 16 finishes, avenged his only loss, that would be amazing.”
