Coming back after more than 12 months away, Ronda Rousey attempted to make history at UFC 207. Had she defeated Amanda Nunes in Vegas, ‘Rowdy’ would have become the first two-time women’s UFC champion.
Having held the belt for three years during her reign, Rousey was massively hyped for her return. Already arguably among the top three female fighters ever, Rousey was also the UFC’s biggest pay-per view draw.
Best Laid Plans Went To Waste
Unfortunately for Rousey, her hoards of fans and the new UFC owners, her big comeback didn’t go as planned. Falling to Nunes after just 48 seconds, ‘Rowdy’ was once again the subject of a wave of memes.
Since the madness of this Saturday’s UFC 207, we’ve seen a ton of cruel reactions. Justin Bieber, a notorious scumbag who also likes to sing, instantly mocked Rousey. Nunes herself posted a cruel meme too.
Bellator star Michael Page has taken it a step further, though.
Page Video Below
Renowned for his outlandish style and brash in-cage antics, Michael ‘Venom’ page is a rising star. Currently competing for Bellator, Page went viral last year with his ‘pokeball KO’ against Evangalista Cyborg Santos.
After seeing Rousey get KO’d by Nunes at UFC 207, Page released this video.
Are People Taking This Too Far?
As with any joke at someone else’s expense, things can often get taken too far. Considering Rousey had talked about suicide the last time she lost, should people be a little more sensitive to her feelings?
Rousey’s Future
Unfortunately for ‘Rowdy,’ her movie career is likely dented massively after this weekend. There were already doubts for her upcoming roles following some setbacks. On the other side of the coin, she’s a wealthy woman.
Her disclosed $3 Millionpay check for UFC 207 alone means she’ll probably never need to work again. The question is will she?
