Yoel “The Soldier of God” Romero will try to make his Bellator debut against none other than Phil Davis. It still looks so odd-defying seeing Romero still compete at 44 years old. Yes many would say that there are a lot of fighters that compete at that age but when one looks at Romero, he looks like an anomaly.
Yoel Romero’s Bellator debut is set (again).

To think that Romero at an old age still went to war against Robert Whittaker and Paulo Costa is an amazing feat. He may have lost but his explosiveness and athleticism is still there which just defies father time.
Yoel Romero was originally booked to join the Bellator light-heavyweight Grand Prix. He was scheduled to face Anthony Davis in the opening bracket but unfortunately couldn’t pass the medical exam may be due to his eye injury and was forced to withdraw from the fight.
Now that he passed the test, Bellator booked him against former UFC fighter, Phil Davis. For those who are not aware or just new fans, Davis has fought under the UFC banner before transferring to Bellator. He has wins over Gustafsson, Machida, Teixeira and much more. He has been fighting at light-heavyweight throughout his career. Davis was also a former Bellator champion. Â
It is an interesting match-up and there are still a lot of Romero fans excited to see the Soldier of God return inside the Octagon once more. Romero still hasn’t won an MMA title, will he be able to capture it this time? or has father time caught up to him this time?
