Yes Seriously… Conor McGregor Called Out Brazilian Legend Anderson Silva After the Former Middleweight Champion Was Defeated in Australia…
Well, well, well… Conor McGregor v Anderson Silva could actually happen. The Irish fighter has called out the Brazilian on Twitter after ‘The Spider’ put on a proud display in defeat against Israel Adesanya. The most successful champion in middleweight history, Silva said he wants to fight once more in his native Brazil before retiring.
Could that opponent be McGregor? It would have to happen at a catchweight, but it is now very possible. We all know ‘The Notorious’ is looking to make as much money as he can, and a clash with Silva in the Brazilian’s retirement fight might just be enough of a narrative to get the fans on board.
See the tweet below which McGregor released after Israel Adesanya beat ‘The Spider.’ Silva had his moments and he definitely walked away with the love of the fans.
Anderson is one crafty, crafty Martial Artist.
You only develop these methods through years of hard fought experience.
Phenomenal performance.
The crafty veteran. Big respect always.
It would be an honor!— Conor McGregor (@TheNotoriousMMA) February 10, 2019
Respect
McGregor is known as ‘The Notorious’ for a reason. He tends to show a lack of respect for his fellow fighters, but there are a few exceptions. Anderson Silva is a man that he totally admires and the Irishman would love nothing more than the chance to take him on. He tweeted:
“Anderson is one crafty, crafty Martial Artist. You only develop these methods through years of hard fought experience. Phenomenal performance. The crafty veteran. Big respect always. It would be an honor!”
Would you like to see this fight go down?
That hurt him!

One Day
McGregor has made it very clear that he’d love to fight in Brazil one day. He was almost booked to take on Rafael Dos Anjos in Rio De Janeiro, before the whole Brooklyn bus incident. However, he’s still open to fighting in the South American MMA hotbed, and a clash with Silva could be the way there. After watching Jose Aldo win last week, he wrote:
“What an amazing atmosphere at UFC Brazil. I would LOVE to compete there for all the passionate Brazilian fans at some stage of my career. I was so close to securing a bout in Rio last year. It was essentially a done deal. Maybe next time. Ui Vai Morrer!!!! I’m still here.”
Can you imagine the atmosphere of a bunch of Brazilian and Irish fans in one place? It needs to happen.
People were talking about Kelvin having ringworm earlier this week on his lip. I’m no doctor but whatever that is on his neck doesn’t look too good either ! #UFC234 pic.twitter.com/8DgHygrPju

Worm
Meanwhile, McGregor also took the time to slam Kelvin Gastelum. He condemned the American for walking around with a UFC belt on his shoulder, pretending to be the middleweight champion. In an absolutely hilarious tweet he wrote:
“Why is that worm holding the 185lb belt? There are worms crawling on his skin! It was absolutely ludicrous to even consider allowing him to compete. Let alone now walk around the arena shaking our fans hands. Someone sort this, this instant. And sterilize that belt. Immediately.”
That’s so harsh but magnificent. This is the sort of trash talk fans love from ‘The Notorious.’ And he’s not wrong either is he? What is going on with Kelvin Gastelum’s neck right now?
