Georges St. Pierre Has Dropped a Huge Amount of Weight As He Prepares to Make His Second Comeback… in the Lightweight Division…
He is arguably the greatest UFC fighter of all time. Or to use the words of Daniel Cormier: “definitely in the conversation.” Georges St. Pierre looks set to return to UFC action after over 6 months out. The double champion has been recovering from ulcerative colitis but now looks like he’s in the shape of his life.
St. Pierre is a two-time welterweight champion and holds the record for the most title defenses (12) in that weight class. He won his second division in December 2017, when he came out of a 4-year hiatus to beat Michael Bisping and claim the middleweight strap.
UFC President Dana White directly linked him to a possible fight against Nate Diaz. Those rumours are flying around again after ‘Rush’ posted a video of himself to Instagram looking seriously slimmed down. His body transformation is incredible.
Massive
GSP was absolutely huge when he fought Michael Bisping for the middleweight title. Having fought at 170 for the entirety of his career, he actually suffered while putting on the extra weight and trying to condition himself correctly for the fight. It left him physically damaged as he came down with ulcerative colitis.
He vacated the middleweight title because he didn’t want to hold up the division. Although Dana White has formerly insisted that St. Pierre has retired, this is not true. Compare the picture above to the video below and you’ll see that he’s looking seriously slimmed down.

Diaz 2?
Of course, with his crazy transformation, there is bound to be increased speculation about a possible fight against Nate Diaz. The younger Diaz brother hasn’t fought since losing (narrowly) to Conor McGregor at UFC 202 back in 2016. However, he has signalled that he is ready to make his comeback.
Dana White has confirmed that the UFC is trying to make the fight happen. A win for either man would justifiably give them a run at the lightweight title. Can you imagine GSP vs Khabib Nurmagamedov or Conor McGregor. He told MMA Junkie:
“We’ve been offering Nate Diaz fights for however long. In his contract, and Nick Diaz, I have to give them three fights a year. Per the contract, I need to give them three fights a year. If I fail to give them three fights a year then I have to pay them. I have honoured my contract with those guys. They turn down the fights, and it extends their contracts. But we are working right now to try to put together a Georges St-Pierre versus Nate Diaz fight.”
Ready
The Nate Diaz fight might not happen, simply because the Diaz brothers just don’t seem to know what they want to do with life anymore. However, whoever GSP fights it’s going to do big numbers so it doesn’t really matter.
Even at 37 he’s still an absolute beast.
