Conor McGregor’s Old Foe Paulie Malignaggi is Bristling After the Notorious Decided to Remind The World of His Famous Knockdown in Training…
In case you don’t remember, Paulie Malignaggi and Conor McGregor just don’t like each other anymore. The former IBF and WBA champion was brought into the Irishman’s camp as a training partner in the build-up to the Floyd Mayweather fight.
However, Malignaggi left in acrimonious circumstances, infuriated after footage of him being knocked down was essentially used by McGregor to show off his skills and make it look like he was able to take down a former champion. To this day, Paulie insists that he gave as good as he got and that it was just a slip.
Anyway, their rivalry was loud and petty, with Paulie mostly coming off worse as the butt of people’s jokes. The Brooklyn-native is pretty short-tempered and blows up every time something about McGregor comes up in the news. So he won’t be happy about this:

Triggered
McGregor decided to retweet the image you can see above, where Paulie is sprawled on his back with the Notorious standing over him. You know, just to remind the world that he’s a badass basically. Needless to say, Malignaggi was not amused. He responded:
“Dude has had 2 kids and an ass kicking since this and he still lives off a fake knockdown that he knows wasn’t real lol. @TheNotoriousMMA your feelings are still hurt? Dont get ur feelings hurt u lil bitch its still our lil secret. Dont run for your life when they ring the bell.”
I’m pretty sure McGregor’s place in Forbes’ Top Five Richest Athletes effectively nullifies any criticism from a man whose most recent belt was the European Union Welterweight title.

There’s More…
Malignaggi couldn’t just let it die. He tweeted a couple more times at the Notorious, suggesting that there’s more than a little insecurity lying uderneath the surface. If it’s all good, just be the bigger man. Paulie wrote:
“@TheNotoriousMMA dont let the inner bitch in u come out. We all know ur gonna pull out the Khabib fight last minute or spend the whole fight runnin 4ur life like u did in rd 5 of the Diaz rematch. U have No BALLS and u think of me 1 yr on cause the reality of my words burns u.”
There are plenty of things you can criticize about McGregor’s career: his failure to defend his titles, the fact that he got an interim title shot after beating Dennis Siver, and general UFC hand-holding. However, one thing that is absolutely certain: he has never backed out of a fight once the contract is signed.
Just Stop
And there was still time for Paulie to reply once more. This time he responded to a fan’s message. He seems to think McGregor is obsessed with him. The irony is absolutely laughable, as clearly the opposite is the case. The Notorious just wanted to get a rise out of Paulie, and he bit the bait like a brainless fish. He wrote:
“1 yr passed and you saw 5 seconds of video in 36 minutes yet he cant stop talkin about me. Come on you gotta be smart enough at this point than to think he boxes anything but apples or oranges.”
Oh, come on Paulie, you can do better than this. Khabib doesn’t speak English as a native language yet he’s still got better trash talk than him. Poor effort.
