This has resulted in a statement from USADA saying he’s done nothing wrong and now his upcoming fight on December 29 has been moved. It will no longer take place in the T-Mobile Arena, but will now be held in The Forum in Los Angeles. Alexander Gustafsson has yet to be consulted.
A very nasty exchange has gone down on social media after Daniel Cormier slammed the entire situation. Jones was not impressed with ‘DC’s’ input and has sent him a stinging rebuke, which the double champion has since replied to.
Savage
Jones sent Cormier a savage message after the Louisiana native went in hard on USADA and the UFC for letting this fight go ahead. He’s fought Cormier twice, winning both times. However, after winning by unanimous decision the first time, he was stripped for breaching the UFC’s athlete code of ethics (the pregnant woman incident).
The second time, he knocked Cormier out with a head kick. This time he tested positive for turinabol and it was overturned to a no-contest. Jones has been angling for another fight. He wrote on Instagram:
“I could slap your wife on the ass and you could literally do nothing about it. You’re my bitch DC, that will never change.. funny how you’re giving me two posts but said nothing when I asked you to come get your belt back.”
Comeback
Cormier isn’t the type of guy who is going to sit back and take that sort of abuse. Especially not from a man who can be considered his arch-nemesis. He went in hard on Jones’s drug use, reminding the world that ‘Bones’ has no moral high ground to speak from. He wrote:
‘You couldn’t do s**t you steroid abusing Junkie. I swear I would never touch ur wife’s flat ass lol. And I didn’t respond. I’m not helping you sell ur bum ass fight you drug abusing steroid cheat. F**k you!”

Toxic
Cormier and Jones have one of the most toxic rivalries in MMA. Most of the time when fighters feud, it’s for the cameras. Now and again a real one does come along, like between Cody Garbrandt and T.J Dillashaw, or even the whole Khabib Nurmagamedov and Conor McGregor situation.
However, none has been as long and enduring as Jones and Cormier’s ongoing beef. If talk on the internet is to be believed, it’s very possible that the pair will meet again. Jones is pushing for the trilogy to take place at light-heavyweight. However, from fan perspective – and DC’s too – it would make much more sense for it to happen at heavyweight.
Spare a thought for Alexander Gustafsson. Maybe he’ll just knock Jones out in the first round and end it all.
