This is Going to be a Clash of the Titans… Literally, Two of the Biggest Men in MMA Are Set to Fight in Polish Promotion KSW…
Despite not having fought once professionally, former bodybuilder Martyn Ford has seized the imagination of fans. The general consensus is that if you found him in bed with your wife, you’d tuck him in and ask him if he wants you to bring him a nightcap. The man is on the surface a terrifying specimen of humanity.
Walking around at a cool 320lbs, he is an absolute behemoth. Polish promotion KSW jumped at the chance of signing him, because he’s definitely got the marketability to be a star, with over 1 million fans on Instagram. He’s got more followers than Tyron Woodley.
Now he looks set to fight a fellow terrifying behemoth. Sajad Gharibi is from Iran and he stands 6’1″ and weighs 340 pounds. You can see pictures of these two men below. It’s a scary sight.

Behemoths
The story is circulating that this is the man that Ford is set to make his MMA debut against. If so, it should literally be the biggest fight that KSW has ever booked. It’s unknown if they will be fighting at heavyweight, which has a cutoff of 265lbs, or if KSW will open a rare super-heavyweight division.
Normally the heavyweight division is one of the thinnest in MMA. It’s also arguably one of the easiest to become moderately successful in. If you’ve got knockout power and decent takedown defence, you can carve out a solid career, unlike in the lighter divisions where fighters are faster and way more technical.
Hulk
Gharbri might not be as tall as Ford but he has pecs the size of your average Toyota. Both of these men are probably juiced up to the gills, but quite frankly, who cares? Leave them at it. KSW is basically taking over from PRIDE in this regard. There’s something about these insane freak fights that’s just wonderful.
Having said that, KSW is a totally legit promotion and one of the fastest growing in Europe. The likes of current UFC fighters Karolina Kowalkiewicz, Alexander Gustafsson, and a whole host of other names have all come through its gates in the early days of their careers.
Gas Out
Most fans are expecting the fight between these two giants to go one of two ways. Either one of them will gas out and it will be totally anticlimactic, or one man will smash the other into oblivion. All that muscle can be your own worst enemy because they require a lot of oxygen. You can guarantee that these two gentlemen have the combined cardio of a pregnant tortoise. Those muscles will build up with lactic acid and we could be the ones falling asleep with boredom.
However, that’s a gamble worth taking for KSW. As the world of MMA gets more competitive and every promotion is trying to carve out its own slice of the pie, this is an opportunity for the Polish corporation to embed itself firmly and make a genuine star.
