2. Cheick Kongo vs. Pat Barry UFC on Versus 4
Kongo is a tough heavyweight who has been having something of a career resurgence in Bellator as of late, and has an important fight coming up this week. Pat Barry has a 5W-7L record in the UFC and has never managed to win two fights back to back.
He was a touch more successful as a kickboxer, but also hovered around a .500 record in bigger organizations. He’s not that good, but he’s really fun to watch. This fight was particularly fun to watch.
Barry dropped Kongo hard after a couple of minutes, with Kongo looking like he was going out but he got his wits back just in time for the fight to continue.
Then as Kongo was trying to get back up Barry dropped him again, and again it looked like Barry was going to finish him. He then chased a wobbly-legged Kongo up against the cage when Kongo landed an uppercut right on Barry’s jaw for an instantaneous knockout.
Barry’s career has suffered ever since, but he’s been dating Rose Namajunas lately, so he’s got that to feel good about.
