It is not that often that a nearly KO’d fighter comes back to win, but when it does it is usually something quite special. When it happens in a title fight, as it did at UFC 203 with Stipe Miocic and Alistair Overeem, it’s even more exciting. This list counts down the top 7 most exciting times a fighter has pulled out a victory after nearly being knocked out.

7. Dan Henderson vs. Hector Lombard UFC 199

Dan Henderson is a 46 year old man that is scheduled to challenge for the UFC middleweight championship next month. Of course if he wins the title at UFC 204 he will break the record for oldest champion, currently held by Randy Couture.

Perhaps Dana White’s motivation to erase Couture from the record books had something to do with Hendo receiving the controversial title shot.

Henderson didn’t look like the middle aged man that he is in this fight however. Hendo battled back after being dropped in the first and almost finished.

In between rounds the doctor came to check on him, but Hendo was not going to let them stop this fight. In under a minute and a half into the second round Henderson kicked him in the head, gave him a solid elbow to drop him, then finished him on the ground.

6. Travis Browne vs. Alistair Overeem UFC Fight Night 26

Two fighters that took part in UFC 203 against other opponents, faced each other at UFC Fight Night 26, with surprising results.

Alistair Overeem spent the first two minutes absolutely destroying Browne in this fight. At one point Overeem even locked in the same guillotine that he claims submitted Stipe Miocic at UFC 203. Browne didn’t tap either however….
