Rising star, Ryan Garcia responds to Leonard Ellerbe’s statements regarding Davis’s potential opponents. Garcia is indeed a big name in the boxing world, mainly because of his huge following in his social media account. Not only that but the way he finishes his opponents are also a huge factor.
Garcia went on to say that Tank Davis is the fight that he wanted. Both were calling each other out in the past, especially in the Mike Tyson’s podcast. They said that it was already a done deal and an announcement is expected soon but it was not the case. Ellerbe has said that Ryan Garcia was something they wanted but the Golden Boy Promotions were not interested.

If what Ellerbe and Garcia are saying is true then it means the Golden Boy Promotions are protecting their golden goose. With Canelo out of their promotion, they are in need of a megastar, Ryan Garcia may be that guy. Garcia may have not won the major word titles yet but his name is already popular even among the casual fans.
Garcia’s last performance was also impressive, he was knocked down by Luke Campbell yet he showed great heart and even went on to knockout Campbell in the later rounds. It proved the doubters once more that Garcia is a legit boxer and is not just fighting cans.
As for Davis, he looked scary in most of his fights. He may look like the smaller guy compared to his opponents but his power is different among the other fighters. We may look at the most powerful puncher in the division. Davis just hits different and you can see his opponent’s reaction when getting clipped.
Even though it is not a unified or undisputed title fight, it is without a doubt one of the biggest fight to make. The rivalry of Mayweather vs De La Hoya is reignited once more and the who will win in this modern rivalry?
