Chris Weidman vs. Yoel Romero- UFC 205

Still fresh in the minds of every MMA fan was the exciting but ultimately disappointing fight between Chris Weidman and Yoel Romero.

This bout was almost a pro-wrestling type story. On one side you have the “bad guy” Yoel Romero, a fighter who has failed drug tests and been accused of bending the rules whenever possible. On the other side you have the all-American “good guy” Chris Weidman, fighting in his home state and looking to earn a shot at the title he used to hold.

Many had the fight even going into the 3rd round, but Romero caught Weidman with a hard knee that left Weidman’s head bleeding like a faucet. Weidman was forced to cover up and protect himself, as Romero earned the win and a future middleweight title shot.

Romero jumped the cage, marched around like a solider, was accompanied by the world’s most intense translator, and then told Michael Bisping he loved him and would see him soon.
