4. Demetrious Johnson
Of all the athletes on this list, Johnson’s inclusion is probably the most controversial. Some people are going to think it’s absolutely crazy and that we’re just casuals. While Johnson definitely delivered in the octagon, the problem is that he was one of the most uninspiring champions of all-time.
Sure, he had 11 successful title defenses and pulled off some highlight-reel finishes. But he totally failed to get fans interested, with every attempt to promote ‘Mighty Mouse’ in a mainstream sense a failure. While the quality of his opposition is an issue, the main stumbling block for Johnson was his lack of personality outside the octagon.
