Everyone is aware of how entertaining when Diaz fights inside the Octagon, their transparent attitude inside and outside the Octagon is what makes them fan-friendly. The Diaz brothers consist of Nick and Nate, both had fair success in their MMA careers. Nick Diaz will return inside the Octagon at UFC 266 and will fight Robbie Lawler.
They may have not gotten the UFC strap but people still wanna see them fight, as for Nick he had his only title shot against George St Pierre. It was a famous rivalry as Nick trash-talked GSP, called him scared, and the infamous “where you at George?” line. unfortunately, the fight was a one-sided beatdown. Once GSP took Diaz down easily, it was a secured round for GSP.

After losing his fight against GSP, he took a step back and rest. It was until 2015 that he fought Anderson Silva who was coming off a back-to-back loss against Chris Weidman. On September of 2015, Diaz tested positive once more with marijuana that suspended him for 5 years. You heard it right, 5 years suspension for marijuana, the punishment seems a bit much.
Marijuana may have been banned before but it has shown to not enhance the fighter’s performance but it forced Diaz to not only fight but also cannot corner his younger brother Nate Diaz.
After long years of fans wanting Nick to return to the Octagon, he is now set to face former UFC welterweight champion, Robbie Lawler, who he already beat in their early days. It was a brutal knockout.
Diaz has been known for his entertaining style of fighting, just watch his fight against Paul Daley. It was one of the best one-rounder fights in MMA history. Daley caught Diaz with his signature left hook numerous times but Diaz manage to recover and even went on to finish Daley in the last seconds of the very first round.
Many would think that after long years of not fighting, it may be dangerous to fight Robbie Lawler who has stayed active these past few years but Lawler has been on a losing streak. Lawler has had a record 1-5 in his last 6 fights, it seems father time has caught up to him.
The PPV fight has two title fights, which are headlined by the featherweight and women’s flyweight but most fans are excited to see what version of Nick Diaz will show up in the fight. Both Diaz is known to put up relentless pressure with a durable chin since they have never been knocked out cold.
Just to showcase how popular Nick Diaz is in the MMA Community, the current manager of Kamaru Usman, Ali Abdelaziz has gone on record to say that if Diaz beats Lawler, he thinks that Diaz should fight for the title. Yes, the fight doesn’t make sense but it shows how much money the UFC can make if Diaz will fight for the title.
