Such a big fight to make which was supposedly scheduled for the main-event for UFC Fight Night on May 9 has been scrapped. Dillashaw recently posted in his Instagram account that he is pulling out of his fight against Sandhagen due to a cut above his right eye

Although the fight may have cancelled, Dillashaw has said that he plans to reschedule as soon as possible. We might be looking at a delay of around 1-2 months for the recovery. It is a shame since the fight was supposedly one of the most awaited fights simply because it will be Dillashaw’s comeback fight.

Many fans are curious what version of Dillashaw will come out. One of his former teammates, Cody Garbrandt has said that Dillashaw has been using PEDs throughout his career so his next fight will answer a lot of questions whether Dillashaw’s PED usage was a huge factor in his successful runs.

Dillashaw is also not fighting a tune-up fight, he is fighting probably the third best bantamweight right now which is Cory Sandhagen. The fight will probably be for the title contender fight. There is also a small delay for the rematch of Sterling vs Yan, since Sterling is undergoing surgery. So a slight reschedule for Sandhagen vs Dillashaw will make the fight just in time for the bantamweight title fight.

As far as stylistically, it will be fireworks. Two striking specialist that fight at the highest level possible. It will probably go down similar to the Cruz vs Dillashaw fight, though Dillashaw also has great wrestling so he might mix in some takedowns.
