Gerald Harris vs. David Branch
Tucked away on the non-televised prelims for UFC 116, Gerald Harris produced a knockout finish against David Branch that got everyone talking.
Despite it’s unfavorable spot on the card this looked like being a good fight, with Harris wielding a 16-2 record, while Branch was making his UFC debut with a perfect 6-0 resume.
Mid-way through the third round of the fight Branch attempted to pull guard, but Harris stayed upright, put his forearm across his opponent’s neck and then took him for a ride, slamming him to the mat, rendering him unconscious in the process.
The finish would then get major exposure courtesy of ESPN’s Sportscenter, who featured it on their ‘Top Plays’ list that night.
Remarkably, Harris has since gone on to prove that this was no fluke by racking up a further two slam knockouts in his career.
