Who would have thought UFC 209 would be such a mess?
After UFC 209, there are a lot of talking points. Unfortunately for fans who paid 60 bucks to watch the event, it was pretty terrible. From the word go, it seemed UFC 209 was in trouble, but who’s fault was it?
Missing out on booking the Diaz brothers at UFC 209 was one big mistake. According to Joe Rogan, the card would have sold ‘2 million’ pay-per-views had it featured the Diaz bros. Even without them, the event featured two title fights when originally scheduled.
Loss of Khabib
After Khabib Nurmagomedov pulled out just 24 hours before UFC 209, we knew things were bad. ‘The Eagle’ was set for a co-main event interim title fight with Tony Ferguson. Still, the card had some great talent remaining.
Sadly, the main event was an absolute snoozer. Tyron Woodley and Stephen Thompson rematched after their thrilling UFC 205 draw, but it was not even a shade of their first fight.
]Here’s UFC president Dana White voicing his frustration about Nurmagomedov:

White Scored The Main Event For Wonderboy
After the close main event, UFC president Dana White revealed to FOX Sports how he scored Woodley vs. Wonderboy 2:
“I had it 3-2 for ‘Wonderboy,’ ” White said. “I didn’t think it was going to be a draw. From the fight that I watched, I had it 3-2 ‘Wonderboy.’ One of the judges scored the last round 10-8, which is insane.”
