UFC 205 is set to explode on November 12. The first ever UFC card in New York will be historic in many ways, and not just in geographical terms. The main event bout for UFC 205 is perhaps the most pivotal in modern UFC history.

Taking in to account the current state of affairs in the UFC, Eddie Alvarez vs. Conor McGregor is HUGE. McGregor, the champion at featherweight, moves up to 155 pounds to challenge the champion Alvarez.

Rankings or Entertainment?

Following the announcement of Alvarez vs. McGregor, there was a big debate. Was the UFC heading down the route of pro wrestling? Angry fans argued that McGregor didn’t deserve the lightweight title fight.

After the initial anger from fans, UFC interim featherweight champ Jose Aldo chimed in. The former undisputed king at 145 pounds announced his shock retirement. Still the fight goes ahead, and its likely to be a huge pay-per-view draw.
