No.6: Michael Chiesa vs. Kevin Lee
At the UFC Summer Kickoff press conference last year, tempers frayed after Kevin Lee brought Michael Chiesa’s mom into the conversation as they talked trash to each other.
Truth be told, though Lee was giving his opponent a hard time, he didn’t actually say anything bad about his mother, but the mere mention of her name lit a fire under Chiesa and led to him threatening to “smack the sh*t out of you.”
He then threw down his mic and ran across the stage in an attempt to get at Lee, who followed suit. However, security staff blocked him just in time, only for Lee to uncork a straight right to the face before they were both pulled apart and forced to leave the presser.
Chiesa later claimed it was a cheapshot and that he didn’t know he’d been hit until he got backstage, but in the end the two did get to fight in the Octagon, with Lee emerging victorious by way of a first round submission.
