If your idea of a dream fight is blood and thunder, then Hunt’s heavyweight slobberknocker with ‘Bigfoot’ Silva at UFC Fight Night 33 in Australia back in 2013 is essential viewing. It had Dana White declaring it the best heavyweight fight of all-time.
Both fighters took an ungodly amount of punishment in this hard-hitting encounter, yet any thought of ‘intelligent defense’ was thrown out the window in favor of continually teeing off on each other’s increasingly crimson-covered faces. There were times in the fight when each man appeared to be on the verge of being stopped. But somehow, their chins held up for the full five minutes, leading to a dramatic conclusion when the fight was declared a majority draw after two insane efforts.
