Wanderlei Silva vs. Dana White
Wanderlei Silva was banned from MMA by NSAC in 2014 after fleeing a random drug test, then turned his anger on the UFC after they refused to release him from his contract.
“You know that I’ve been chased, discriminated, treated like a slave by this promotion,” Silva complained on Facebook. “They don’t want to release me from the contract, so I can’t work anymore.”
“He ran from a drug test,” White retaliated. “If he’s a slave, he’s a slave of his own doing.”
Silva also accused the UFC of underpaying and mistreating fighters, but White responded that during his time in the promotion, the Brazilian had been paid, $9.7 million.
Silva also took aim at White personally, telling mmafighting.com that “[White] is the only one who has anything to gain by lying. He’s the business man who only cares about his bank account.”
Silva claimed he could prove the UFC fixed fights, to which the UFC retaliated by suing him, prompting him to retract his statement and apologize.
