There is absolutely no doubt that South Korean welterweight, the “Stun Gun” Dong Hyun Kim is the most talented Asian MMA fighter in the world today. He only has three defeats on his career, against UFC stars Carlos Condit, Demian Maia and Tyron Woodley, but apart from that, Kim has been relatively unstoppable.
He owns victories over Nate Diaz, TJ Grant, and just recently stopped both Joshua Burkman and Dominic Waters. Kim’s Judo-base is incredibly effective and he makes effective use of his large frame to smother opponents on the ground, breaking their will before punishing them with bombastic strikes.
At 21-3, Kim has finished more than half of his opponents and looks to continue carrying the flag for Asian MMA in the years to come — unless of course the fighters beneath him on this list start to gain on him.
Asian MMA is certainly coming into its own and is definitely something to watch out for.
