2. James Toney
James Toney was submitted by Randy Couture in the semi-main event of UFC 118. Few gave the boxer a chance in the fight and the few who did were proven wrong.
Couture took Toney down early, completely erasing his advantage in the standup. This will, or at least should be, the exact strategy a potential MMA opponent of Floyd Mayweather’s should utilize.
Couture was awarded his jiu-jitsu black belt after the fight as well. It’s assumed he’d accomplished much more difficult tasks in training, however.
