7. UFC “Go Big” Press Conference

In September of 2015 the UFC held a press conference to celebrate what they felt would be one of the biggest periods in the company’s history. The period Dana mentioned was from September to December of 2015.

In that time Conor knocked out Jose Aldo in 13 seconds, and Holly Holm kicked Ronda Rousey in the head so hard that she began talking of both suicide and having babies, which are almost opposite things when you think about it. Of course just months after that the two most profitable events in UFC history would occur (UFC 196 and 202), the historic UFC 200 would take place, and the company would be sold for $4 billion.

At this star-studded press conference everyone took aim at Conor McGregor, trying to earn that “red panty” night by fighting against a proven draw. Funny thing is, Conor hadn’t even demonstrated how much money he could make yet.

Conor got the verbal better than each of his challengers that night, but Nate Diaz was watching and waiting, and he would give his infamous post-fight challenge to McGregor a few months later after defeating Michael Johnson on Fox Sports.
