Ronda Rousey’s man pet Travis Browne still has beef left with heavyweight Derrick Lewis for issues before their fight in mid-February. “Hapa” used Lewis’ recent loss to Mark Hunt at UFC Fight Night 110 to take a dig into “The Black Beast”.

Lewis (18-5, 1NC) was stopped in the fourth round of a scheduled five-round heavyweight bout in Auckland last Saturday night opposite Hunt (13-11-1, 1NC) in what was an entertaining contest. He succumbed to punches at 3:51 of the fourth frame when Hunt, the fresher man, forced an exhausted Lewis to basically quit.

Lewis entered the contest riding a 6-fight win streak, which includes a victory over Browne. Despite this being his first loss in seven bouts, Lewis said it could be the last time we see him in the Octagon.

“That’s probably my last fight,” Lewis said. “I’m getting married next week — I don’t want to put my family through all this.”

Lewis made a plethora of remarks regarding Browne’s domestic violence issues in 2015. He spoke to media both prior to and after their UFC Fight Night 105 match up. Lewis said Browne had “beat” his ex-wife, despite the allegations being unfounded due to a lack of evidence.

Not only that, but Lewis also had a few things to say about Browne’s fiancee, former UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey.

Travis Browne took to Instagram to send a message to Lewis

After Lewis fell to Hunt last weekend by technical knockout, Browne took to social media to send a message. The message, posted on Browne’s official Instagram account, was clear and was directed at Lewis. It basically told Lewis to retire from mixed martial arts. It also took a dig at Lewis’ comments about having “the most heart” in the division.

“You say you have the most heart in the heavyweight division, but I just watched you quit,” said Browne on Instagram. “You should retire. You brought up false news about me that affected my family. What happened to your mom, no woman should ever have to go through. Miss Lewis, you have my sympathy. I hope your family isn’t affected by false accusations or false news, like mine was. Even though you didn’t have the same consideration for my family. I wish the best for your wife and children. Enjoy your wedding on the islands, my home is heaven on earth. Best wishes. We know you don’t have the heart but if you have the balls, I’m down to run it back.”

Could Browne be looking for a rematch?

If you read between the lines, it sounds like Browne wants another crack at Lewis at some point. Perhaps they can settle their beef in the cage like real men.

Lewis said previously that he had issues with Browne’s past because he had been witness to abuse between his own parents as a child.

As of now, Browne is set to face Alexey Oleynik (51-10-1) at UFC 213 on July 8 in Las Vegas. If this is indeed the last time Lewis would be seen in the Octagon however, a rematch with Browne may never come to fruition.
