Deiveson Figueiredo is set to make the quickest turnaround for the UFC title defense and will face Brandon Moreno. Both fighters last fought on the previous PPV Card UFC 255. Prior to the UFC 255, Moreno was already the #1 Contender, so he of all fights most deserved the title shot.

Deiveson Figueiredo made an easy payday as he beat Alex Perez easily. The strike he may have gotten was only a leg kick and both grappled until Figueiredo sank in a Guillotine choke. It looked like Perez was about to get out of the choke but tapped in the last moment of getting out.

It is a shame that Figueiredo has not fought the best of the division when he was still rising. Henry Cejudo moved up the division and retired while the flyweight GOAT Demetrious Johnson was traded to ONE FC. Figueiredo only has one loss in his MMA career and it was against Jussier Formiga via unanimous decision.

In Moreno’s last fight, he fought and beat Brandon Royval under the UFC 255 Preliminary Card. Many argued that Royval may have fought longer had his shoulder not popped mid-fight but the reason his shoulder popped may have been due to Moreno’s grappling.

The co-main event may have more attraction than the main event since it features Tony Ferguson vs Charles Oliveira. One could argue it is the main attraction just by looking at the trending video on the UFC Official Youtube channel. The Tony Ferguson vs Charles Oliveira has the most views by a long shot.

Tony Ferguson is coming off a loss after his long 12 fight win streak. He wanted to fight before the end of the year, he then called out Michael Chandler. Unfortunately, Chandler did not want to fight this year but is willing to wait to be the co-main event in the Mcgregor vs Poirier Card.

The UFC then offered Charles Oliveira to fight Tony Ferguson which both parties agreed. Both fighters have an unorthodox style with a decent ground game. Oliveira is on a seven-fight win streak with an impressive win against Kevin Lee. The most impressive thing is all those seven fights ended in a stoppage.

Another lightweight bout is set with Renato Moicano vs Rafael Fiziev. Moicano was an elite top featherweight prior to moving up. He has fought some of the best featherweights on the planet but always fell short of the top contenders.

Moicano is a big featherweight so ideally lightweight could be his natural weight class.  He is fighting an elite kickboxer Rafael Fiziev. The fight would most likely end in a stand-up game. Fiziev has attracted so much attention due to his flashy and entertaining fighting style.

One of the most active fighters of 2020, Kevin Holland is set to fight for the fifth time this year. He has won all four of his fights this year. He is set to face an old veteran legend Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza.

Souza’s last fight was in the Light Heavyweight division and was against the current champion Jan Błachowicz. After an unsuccessful fight, he moved back to middleweight to fight. He was set to fight Uriah Hall but pulled out at the last minute due to testing positive for COVID.

The Main Card opener features a heavyweight fight, Junior Dos Santos vs Ciryl Gane. Dos Santos is a former heavyweight champion who has fought the best in the division. He has fought Stipe Miocic, Francis Ngannou, Cain Velasquez, Curtis Blaydes, and even Jairzinho Rozenstruik.

Dos Santos has had ups and downs in his career but is always game to fight the best. His opponent is a rising star Ciryl Gane who is only set to make his 7th MMA fight. Gane has shown to have the potential to be the next heavyweight champion due to his elite striking the decent ground game. He finished an opponent via heel hook which is impressive considering he is an accomplished Muay Thai fighter.

UFC 256 is set to take place on Dec 12, 2020, at the UFC Apex Las Vegas, Nevada. It features one title fight with a stacked card that features big names.
