UFC 205 is just a little over two weeks away and the hype is certainly starting to build up. It won’t be long until we see “The Notorious” Conor McGregor stand face to face with UFC lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez.

Of course, as is the norm with all of McGregor’s bouts, fans can expect a healthy stream of intense media tidbits from the brash Irishman. But before he takes the microphone, the UFC just released an epic promo video that will get you amped for the big event.

The promo features previews of the three title bouts going down in New York. The female strawweight title bout between champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk and Karolina Kowalkiewicz. The welterweight title bout between champion Tyron Woodley and Stephen Thompson. And of course the lightweight title bout between champion Eddie Alvarez and Conor McGregor.

If you aren’t already amped for UFC 205, after seeing the video, you will be.

Joanna Jedz

At first glance, it appears the Jedrzejczyk- Kowalkiewicz could turn out to be a show-stealer. The two ladies are ready to go to war from the looks of things. Fans enjoy two fighters just blasting each other with their best shots and that’s what these two fighters will do inside the Octagon.

“She’s got power, but I’m too fast,” said Jedrzejczyk. “I’m the best champion and I’m on a different level.”

Kowalkiewicz certainly poses a threat, but no one has been able to solve Jedrzejczyk before and it will be difficult for sure.

Tyron Woodley

But on the other hand, Woodley vs Thompson looks to be an interesting clash of styles. You have the power of Woodley, obviously. But Thompson is one of the best kickboxers in the world with a karate-infused technique that makes life very difficult for all of his opponents.

“This is the biggest moment of my life,” said Thompson. “This is the fight that I step out there and prove to the world that I should be the welterweight champion.”

Thompson is right to say that he is the toughest matchup for Woodley. With the welterweight title changing hands so frequently in the past two years, this could be the matchup to determine who gets to keep it for the long haul.

And then of course there’s Alvarez vs McGregor which is expected to be as entertaining outside of the cage as it is inside of it. McGregor will look to knock Alvarez out in the first round as “Mystic Mac” predicted, but Alvarez will likely try to do the same.

“Winners focus on winning. Losers focus on winners. They’re focusing on me,” said McGregor. “I’m focusing on history.”

If McGregor is able to defeat Alvarez, he will become the first fighter in UFC history two simultaneously hold two belts in two different weight classes.

It should be an epic endeavor any which way.

This is the first time the UFC is in New York since MMA had been legalized in the state and things are definitely going to start to pick up in the next week or so. Stay tuned.
