Dan Hooker is no longer participating at UFC Austin next month. Due to an injury, “The Hangman” was forced to abandon the fight versus Bobby Green, but UFC is reportedly looking for a new fighter that could replace Hooker.

The Hooker vs. Green bout is set to join the event of UFC on December 2 as the promotion company is aiming to return to Texas. UFC Austin’s main event would be a five-round non-title fight between Beneil Dariush and Arman Tsarukyan. Complementing the main event of the two is the co-main event five-round bout between Hooker and Green. However, that will no longer be possible, with the Hooker currently suffering from an injury.

As first reported by the New Zealand Herald, Hooker has an arm injury that forced him out of the bout. Nonetheless, the promotion company is reportedly trying to resolve this by finding a new opponent for Green.

The fight was supposed to help Hooker extend his current two-fight victory over Claudio Puelles and Jalin Turner. Meanwhile, Green is entering the cage with his recent two successes over Tony Ferguson and Grant Dawson. Whether this streak will continue for Green is still undetermined, as there are still no exact details on who will replace Hooker.

Aside from Green’s bout, four other fights will join the main event of Dariush and Tsarukyan:

  • Rob Font vs Deiveson Figueiredo
  • Sean Brady vs. Kelvin Gastelum
  • Punahele Soriano vs Dustin Stoltzfus
  • Khalil Rountree vs. Azamat Murzakanov

We will update this article for more details when UFC confirms the replacement of Hooker.
