Khabib Nurmagamedov Has Told Conor McGregor That MMA Has Changed: It’s Time to Put Up or Shut Up…

It’s the fight that everyone wants and fingers crossed it comes to be. Khabib Nurmagamedov vs Conor McGregor, Russia vs Ireland, ‘The Eagle’ vs ‘The Notorious’… you get the picture.

However, despite it being well over a month since Conor McGregor threw that dolly at that bus in Brooklyn, at UFC 223, we’ve yet to hear any details about any move towards an official fight. Yes, there have been rumors that they are looking at Las Vegas later this year, in the T-Mobile Arena, but nothing has been set in stone.

McGregor has been keeping his head down since the wild incident which saw him spend the night in jail and will see him return to New York to face trial on June 14. Nurmagamedov has issued him a brutal warning on Instagram, telling McGregor that he needs to fight soon to stay relevant.

Relentless

There is one word to describe Nurmagamedov’s style of fighting: relentless. He gets you down on the ground and then just brutalizes you without stopping. It’s horrific to experience and fighters just don’t know what to do. It’s helped him amass an incredible 26-0 unbeaten record.

However, there remain doubters who believe that Nurmagamedov needs to fight either McGregor or Tony Ferguson to be taken seriously as the real champion. After an insane week, Nurmagamedov fought the then ranked No. 11 UFC lightweight fighter, Al Iaquinta, to take the title.

Warning

Khabib posted the following on Instagram, warning McGregor that he either puts up or shuts up. He wrote:

“When you see him, tell him: Conor the game has changed, now you have to play like a grown-up man, there will no longer be locked buses with security inside and outside, now you have to solve these problems alone, and if you do not want it, just say so, everybody will understand.”

A lot of fans have lost patience with McGregor over the last few weeks. Yes, he is a record setter and a charismatic personality, but he’s also been stripped of two titles and just been acting crazy since he got super rich. If he wants to keep his fans he needs to do what got him to the top in the first place: fight.

Return

The UFC remains optimistic that McGregor will be able to return at some point in 2018. The Irishman attended last night’s Bellator 200 event in London and will meet UFC president Dana White in Liverpool after the fight night that takes place there tomorrow. There may be some clarity on his future after that.

Don’t forget that he has a whole bunch of lawsuits coming his way as well. Whether or not he gets sued by the likes of Ray Borg and Michael Chiesa, you can bet that he’ll at least have to settle with them outside of court. That’s not going to come cheap. With Conor Jr. growing up, McGregor might want to reduce the damage on his bank balance.

Just fight already.
