In an interview with Brett Okamoto, TJ Dillashaw has said that he wants to get a title shot as soon as possible. Dillashaw is currently serving a 2-year suspension due to a banned substance (EPO).
In his interview, he said that it was the only time that he used EPO due to his weight cut issue. He was scheduled to fight Henry Cejudo but lost right off the opening bell. It was later revealed that he tested positive for EPO. It is also worth noting that the EPO cannot be from a tainted supplement as the only way to use it is by injection.
After a few weeks, TJ Dillashaw finally posted a statement saying he messed up and apologized to his fans.
Dillashaw said that he is willing to wait for the winner of the Yan-Sterling title fight. Though some fans won’t agree with the immediate title shot since he cheated, so he does not deserve to get a title shot immediately.
If UFC won’t grant him the title shot, TJ is willing to fight a top 5 contender. Cory Sandhagen has called TJ Dillashaw out after his win against Marlon Moraes which is a good benchmark as to where Dillashaw is right now.
Dillashaw then responded that he is open to fighting Sandhagen but holds back a bit since he does not want to fight a good friend.
Cody Garbrandt, his former teammate has said that Dillashaw was using EPO prior to him popping. So if we use logic, Dillashaw might have used EPO more than once which taints his career.
The Bantamweight title match was supposed to be scheduled for December 12 but Yan pulled out due to personal issues. UFC is looking to rebook on a later date, most likely early next year.
Dillashaw also dissed the current champion, Petr Yan saying that he does not deserve to be called a champion. Yan only fought a 0-2 Jose Aldo to win the title so it does not make a huge statement as the best in the division.
Petr Yan responds that to get in line and called Dillashaw a cheater. This shows that he thinks Sterling is still the real contender and top fighter of the division.
Wait in line, cheater https://t.co/wskArkbG05

Aljimain Sterling meanwhile tweeted a post about not rewarding a cheater. He said that MMA may be the only sport where the cheater is rewarded. One good example would be the arguable GOAT, Jon Jones. When he popped many times, he still got an immediate shot.
Is MMA the only sport where cheaters get rewarded, after time served?? Seriously wondering about this. Imagine going to jail for a assaulting someone, doing x years, coming out, and the warden hooks you up with a chance to make half a milly+ as soon as you walk out. Wow.

Retired UFC fighter, Henry Cejudo also joined the argument saying he agrees with TJ Dillashaw. He stated that the current champions are just interim champion in his eyes. It may be because they did not beat the champion and fought for the vacant but it does not make sense. One is retired and the other was caught cheating so they cannot state that both contenders will never be champion.
This deserves a lol 😂! At least @TJDillashaw gets it, not like flavor Flave stunt double @funkmasterMMA who wants to butter up @PetrYanUFC potato head. Skip him and give it to TJ. And I might just make a comeback. In all you guys all suck! 🏆🏆🏆 merry Christmas 🎁🎄 😘 https://t.co/xJ5d6ts0j8
