Miesha Tate previously made 2 unsuccessful attempts at dethroning Ronda Rousey. The first bout took place in 2012 under the now defunct Strikeforce banner, with the second being in 2013 at UFC 168. “Cupcake” lost both fights by armbar. If Tate is able to defeat Holm at UFC 196, it could set up a third matchup with Rousey, who was expected to receive an immediate rematch after the loss against Holm.
