The UFC returned with a fun event in Las Vegas, Nevada this weekend. Headlining The Ultimate Fighter 24 finale was the return of flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson. Taking on Tim Elliot in the main event, ‘Mighty Mouse’ extending his title streak to nine defenses.

Although Johnson is the current pound-for-pound number one, he is an unknown to most new MMA fans. The generated gate income for the TUF 24 finale was the lowest total of 2016 so far.

Johnson With Yet Another Win

Elsewhere on the card was a welterweight bout between Jorge Masvidal and Jake Ellenberger. This fight ended with perhaps one of the most bizarre TKO’s of all-time. After some wild exchanges early on, Ellenberger became entangled in the octagon fence.

At first it looked like referee Herb Dean called a time out, but then the commission entered the octagon. Unfortunately for Ellenberger, he was deemed ‘unable to continue,’ and thus Masvidal earned a TKO victory after the confusion.
