WATCH: BJ Penn Lands Crazy Ground & Pound in Bar Fight

BJ Penn is Back at it Again… Hawaii’s Former Finest MMA Fighter Has Allegedly Battered a Man in a Bar in His Home State… It’s Not Looking Good for the Former Lightweight and Welterweight Champion…

Do you remember when BJ Penn was on top of the world? ‘The Prodigy’ is one of the greatest fighters of all time, but his record and legacy have been tarnished by his inability to quit. Sure, that’s his right to keep fighting but he really shouldn’t have a need to at this point in this life.

And that’s just inside the octagon. While the UFC can definitely be criticised for enabling him, Penn’s problems extend to the real world too. He’s been in a bar fight at a strip club a couple of months ago and is facing a custody battle for his children after his wife took out a restraining order on him.

Now he’s back in the headlines again for bad reasons after allegedly smashing up a dude in a bar in Pahoa on Hawaii’s big island. It’s pretty wild footage. Check it out below.

Damning Footage

Penn is clearly visible in this footage, obtained by TMZ, putting a beating on some shirtless dude in the Lava Shack Bar, Pahoa, Hawaii. We’ve no idea what triggered this latest moment of madness from the former lightweight and welterweight champion – but we’re assuming he saw the latest footage of Conor McGregor and said ‘Right. Hold my beer.’

The 40-year-old former champ is operating from the rear-mount position, driving hooks and hammer fists down into his victim’s body and head. All the unfortunate dude can do is try to cover up. A woman can be heard screaming at him to get off – it always happens in these sort of videos – and some other guys move in to save the shirtless guys life.

No Arrests

According to TMZ police were called to the scene but no arrests were made. Apparently, no charges have been pressed either so you can bet that a whole load of alcohol was consumed and that the guy definitely said something terrible to Penn. It’s his best fight performance since 2010 when he knocked out Matt Hughes.

Yep, it’s literally 9 years and 8 fights since Penn last won. Based off of this footage you can expect the UFC to hand him another 8-fight contract. Well, at least it isn’t an old man he’s sucker-punched. Conor McGregor can’t say that.

Why?

Penn is set to fight one last time when he takes on Nik Lentz later this year. We’ve no idea why this fight has been made because he clearly is no longer capable of fighting at the highest level and nobody likes watching him get beat. His most recent defeat was a unanimous decision dropped against fellow veteran Clay Guida.

UFC President Dana White has promised that this will be his final fight with the UFC. Well, at least he has a career in bar fights ahead of him. Things really aren’t good in Penn’s life right now. It’s a tragic story really.
