Yenifel Vicente obviously has a vendetta against children because he decided that Jessie Magdaleno wasn’t going to have any. The pair fought in the main event of a recent Top Rank card in the MGM Grand, Las Vegas. What unfolded was one of the most bizarre sights in recent boxing history.
First of all, low blows happen. They’re not all that common in boxing because fighters tend to headhunt more than in MMA. Furthermore, they’re not kicking to the body like MMA fighters so there’s less chance of an unfortunate collision. Sometimes a punch gets miscalculated but four times is quite simply beyond the joke.
However, that’s exactly what Vicente did before referee Robert Byrd finally disqualified him in the tenth round. We’ve no idea why it took so long for the referee to take this step, but it was definitely coming. Former 122lbs champion Magdaleno straight-up called Vicente a ‘dirty fighter.’ In short, that’s the understatement of the century.

Foul After Foul
You have to feel for Magdaleno. He was dominating the early stages of the fight before Vicente decided to go on his ridiculous rampage. The former champion scored two knockdowns on his way towards victory but his Dominican opponent decided to make things difficult.
He could have been disqualified after his first consecutive foul. First of all, he landed a vicious strike below the belt but the referee took an age to intervene. They say you should defend yourself at all times, but Magdaleno was holding his manhood with an expression of misery upon his face. In sum, he wasn’t prepared for Vicente to crack him across the head with one of the cheapest blows you’ll ever see.
Byrd docked him a point but Vicente decided to try his luck again with another low blow in the same round. No wonder Magdaleno came back hard in the fifth because he was furious. He continued to pursue the body with the referee warning him several times to aim higher.

Dirty Fighter
But he still didn’t learn his lesson and landed two ball shots in the tenth round. Byrd only docked him a point after the first one but finally disqualified him after the fourth. It was insane that the fight had lasted this long. Magdaleno was gracious afterward, despite the trashing to his groin.
“He was a rugged fighter. He was a tough veteran. I tip my hat off to him. He knew what he was doing. His way was to get me low,” Magdaleno said.
“I wasn’t going to let him get in my head,” Magdaleno said. “I kept my composure, got the win and we move on to the next one.”

Championship
It wasn’t the dominant showing that he wanted, but he still left with a win and his manhood. Now Magdaleno wants to pursue his second title. He called out WBC featherweight champion Gary Russell. Hopefully, he can have children in the future too.
“Gary Russell, I’m coming for you,” he said. “But like I’ve said before, I want any of the champions at 126 pounds. I want to be a two-division world champion. Simple as that.”
