They Have One of the Most Toxic Rivalries in All of Combat Sports… And Now Khabib Nurmagamedov Says it Will Not End Until One of Them is in Jail… Put Your Money On McGregor Getting There First…

Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagamedov don’t like each other. Well, that could be the understatement of the century. They hate each other and that culminated in one of the wildest beefs that the UFC and indeed combat sports as a whole have ever seen.

Despite McGregor getting arrested when ‘The Eagle’ was fighting for the title and Khabib kicking off a full-scale brawl after beating the Irishman, they’re still not over it. Both men got official warnings from the UFC after their online exchanges got too savage for the promotion to accept.

Now Khabib has said that their beef will never end unless one of the two ends up in the hospital or in jail. In a brutally honest interview, he explained his feelings about the most divisive figure in the fight world today.

Never Ending

Just beating McGregor wasn’t enough for Khabib. He wants to dismantle the Irishman’s entire team. That would probably include the likes of Dillon Danis and Artem Lobov, as well as every fighter to come out of SBG Ireland at the moment.

“Even this fight finish, not everything is finished,” Nurmagomedov told ESPN (via MMA Fighting). “Just smash people it’s not enough. I talk about just smash only him? It’s not enough. We have to smash all his team. This is what I think before the fight. This is what I say to my team. ‘Hey, tonight, we’re going to war. This is not about fight.’

“It will never be finished. Ever. Even if we see [each other] somewhere, we’re going to fight, 100 percent. It doesn’t matter if someone go to jail or something like this. I’m not scared about this. If someone has to go to jail, they go to jail. . . They go to hospital and we’ll go to police. That’s it.”

No Rematch

‘The Eagle’ also explained why he’s refusing to accept a rematch against McGregor. To be fair he’s got a point. The Notorious has only fought once in the last three years – not counting the Floyd Mayweather boxing carnival.

“I don’t think this fight can happen,” Nurmagomedov said. “This guy have to come back and make nine- or 10-fight win streak. Then we gonna fight. Maybe people who watch this interview, they think, ‘Oh, he think about this, but when UFC ask this guy to fight Conor for millions of dollars, this guy is gonna take it.’ No. Come back and show who are you. Fight with Justin, fight with Iaquinta, fight with Tony. Fight. Just show up. When he in last time? Three years ago and this guy wants to fight for the title?

Don’t Waste My Time

Nurmagamedov expanded on that point saying that he’s not taking calls from Dana White if that’s all he wants to talk about. He’s got his eye on interim champion Dustin Poirier first at UFC 242 in Abu Dhabi. If he wins that, he wants arguably the greatest fighter of all time: Georges St. Pierre. “Rush” might be retired but that won’t stop Khabib calling him out. He said:

”Dana [White], no need to call me. Why he have to call me about this fight? We talk with Dana sometimes, he’s a good guy, but don’t talk with me about this crazy fight. I want to fight real guys – Dustin Poirier, Tony Ferguson, maybe if one of the greatest athletes ever, Georges St-Pierre, wants to fight. I want to fight those guys. I don’t want to fight with a guy who never wins.”
