Say What You Like About The Notorious… There’s No Doubt That He Has One of the Most Magnetic Personalities in MMA… As He Gets Ready For His Press Conference With Khabib Nurmagamedov, Here Are Some of His Best Bits…
A Conor McGregor press conference is like no other fighter’s. Arguably only Chael Sonnen can be said to rival his ability to slice through opponents with devastating trash-talk. His wrestling might be dubious, but he’s a grandmaster in the art of self-promotion.
The news has broken that the Irishman is set to defy the UFC again. He has somehow worked out a deal that the press-conference tomorrow with his opponent and rival Khabib Nurmagamedov will be open to the public. There will also be a party on Times Square in New York, with live screenings of what should be an entertaining spectacle.
With this in mind, here are some of the Irish fighter’s most entertaining moments on the microphone. The UFC has released a special compilation video which you can see below. In another life, he could have been a comedian, because he is hilarious.
Compilation
Just walking this shows how much the UFC has missed McGregor. The Irish fighter might be brash and arrogant, but he’s got a magnetic charisma that has catapulted him to superstardom. There are some glorious moments in this footage.
Who can ever forget his ultimate shutdown when he turned around to Jeremy Stephens and said: “Who the fook is dat guy?” Or back in the early days after beating Max Holloway when he said he should have just pulled off his injured leg and battered the Hawaiian fighter with it?
No fighter has managed to successfully stand up to him either. Nate Diaz has come the closest, and by beating McGregor in their first fight he was able to limit the verbal damage in the second, but ‘The Notorious’ has almost won the battle before stepping into the cage on many past occasions.

Exciting
From pimp coats to tailored suits to silk shirts, McGregor has done it all. He’s infuriated the likes of Jose Aldo and Eddie Alvarez by literally taking their belts, with Aldo almost attacking ‘The Notorious’ in front of a partisan crowd in Dublin, Ireland.
Other subtler messages have included that famous ‘F**k You’ suit he wore to a media event with Floyd Mayweather. He’s also destroyed Chad Mendes by telling the shorter fighter that he could rest his balls on his forehead.

Countdown
There’s practically going to be a festival atmosphere tomorrow at the press conference in Radio City Music Hall, New York. It’s going to be an atmosphere that Khabib Nurmagamedov will never have experienced before. It might be Khabib time, but he’s never had an opponent like McGregor who incites such a passionate following.
The Russian’s reaction and ability under such pressure will be fascinating to watch. This strangely under-promoted fight will feel so much more real tomorrow.
