This just got a little more interesting…

UFC 196 was one of the most entertaining events ever. It’s strange to think when the main event literally fell apart less than two weeks before March 5. Rafael dos Anjos, the lightweight champion at the time, put the card in jeopardy by pulling out injured.

In the end it turned out to be a pretty sweet deal. Nate Diaz stepped in on 11 days notice and made the most of the opportunity. Diaz and McGregor already had history and the das leading up to UFC 196 were very eventful.

The arena erupted when Diaz wobbled McGregor in the second round. A series of slick boxing combinations had the Irish star shooting for a desperate takedown. This led to a short scramble on the mat before Diaz took top position.

The choke was locked in and McGregor tapped, and in turn Diaz became a superstar. In a rare sequence of video footage yesterday, we saw the Stockton bad boy looking very big while in the boxing gym.

Boxing coach Ricky Funez estimated Diaz was weighing around 200 pounds. His sharp pad work led to a frenzy online, but now McGregor has posted some footage of his own. Ahead of their rematch at UFC 202, things are heating up.
