After just four years of fighting at the top level, UFC star Conor McGregor has a movie coming out about his life…
Since joining the UFC back in 2013, Conor McGregor seemed to be destined for superstardom. Part of it is down to his charisma, fighting style and results, the other part is the UFC’s push in promoting the Irishman.
Obviously, the promotion is there to get their biggest stars in the limelight. With McGregor, though, he proved to be a runaway train that his employers have essentially lost control of. Some would see this as negative, and others positive.
In many ways, McGregor is unique to the MMA world, but especially in the UFC. Prior to ‘The Notorious’ going globally famous, nobody called shots or would even dream of demanding part ownership in the company.
As much chaos and disorder as McGregor raises, he is also laying a blueprint for future UFC fighters to get paid better.
Hollywood Calling
McGregor would go on to fly over the heads of the UFC and box Floyd Mayweather earlier rthis year. Although ill-fated in terms of result, McGregor banked a handsome sum that he’ll never match in the UFC.
Once again sweeping the UFC, the race to be McGregor’s next opponent is on. Filmmakers have cottoned on to McGregor mania, and the recently announced movie about his life titled Conor McGregor: Notorious now has a trailer attached.

Rags to Riches
Folks love a good rags to riches tale, so enjoy McGregor’s coach John Kavanagh’s comments about his fighter being a broke bum as a youth:
“It wasn’t easy. Conor was on the dole, earning €100 a fight and training at the height of winter in a cold gym. Now, I don’t care how passionate you are, but there are always going to be periods thinking ‘F**k this! What am I doing here?”
“Conor’s annual earnings for that five-year period was something like €1,500 a year. There was no money and I was running out of ideas. The UFC was a closed shop.”
