Evidence

Wondering who those two guys are in the top image? That’s the two ‘fighters’ Edmond Tarverdyan holds his undefeated 2-0 ‘pro’ record against. We’ve spoken a lot about this topic, so let’s take a look at the stream of video evidence against Edmond.

You may think this article is fraught with opinion and less to do with the facts. Well, the proof is undeniable, and you’ll realise that the further through these videos you get.

Technique

Just 30 seconds in to the video and already you begin to see the point. Her chin is up too high, she is rolling her hands up and down as opposed to her shoulders, she leans on the front foot, she only moves to her left and her hand are by her waist at times. Even an amateur boxing trainer will tell you these are all cardinal sins in the boxing world.

Aside from all the physical mistakes that coach Edmond is encouraging, where is his technical advice? ‘I like that touch’ and ‘good reach’ is not what you want to hear. Boxing coaches are meant to coach boxing. ‘Snap the jab,’ ‘keep your hands up,’ or hold the chin closer to your chest’ is more what you’d want to hear.

The fundamentals are what all good boxers and strikers are made of. Athleticism will only carry a fighter so far, and that was proven to be the case with Ronda Rousey. Don’t stop reading yet though, as this is merely the tip of the BS iceberg that Edmond Tarverdyan has created.

Still Looking…Not Good

What’s the difference between this video of Rousey training on the beach and the first one above. They are more than a year apart, the beach training clip with good old Edmond Tarverdyan was from April 30 this year. You’d expect to see improvements, the reality is she’s got worse.

What about Edmond as a person? Is he just a deluded guy, or is there something far more sinister at play? UFC color commentator Joe Rogan spoke with Demetrious ‘Mighty Mouse’ Johnson about a brief encounter with coach Edmond:

Joe Rogan on Edmond’s Delusion

Aside from the fact Edmond Tarverdyan teaches blatantly poor techniques to Ronda Rousey, and is a running joke among the MMA world, what’s he like outside the fight game?

Ronda Rousey’s own Mother, former Olympic Judo gold medallist and martial arts legend, Dr Anne-Marie De Mars went nuts on coach Edmond.

“I predicted it in advance. Ronda trained with an idiot”, De Mars told Submission Radio. “She trained with an idiot who’s a fraud. I would be shocked to find out if that guy has any record at all. I saw him fight once, and he fought somebody who had a record of like 6-20 and won a decision against somebody who had a drastically losing record.”

“The guy’s a fraud. Ronda has a lot of talent. She came into that gym with a very strong build, 10-year background of training at the Olympic level, and it carried her a long way,” she continued. “She needs to get away from some egomaniac fraud and be herself. And Ronda as herself can beat anybody on the planet. So I’m sad about it, but you become an adult and you make decisions and sometimes you make mistakes, and hopefully you learn from those mistakes.”

“I told her flat-out that I think that guy she was training with was an idiot and a fraud, and he’s been investigated for bankruptcy fraud out here, for tax evasion, for mortgage fraud,” she said. “They just suspended his license for falsifying the application, he was convicted of two counts of identity theft. And so we don’t talk about that much because I told her flat-out, ‘as long as you’re training with this guy, I just cannot stomach that.'”

Finally, and perhaps most poignant of all, the video of how fighters have done in the UFC since training with coach Edmond Tarverdyan.

Thank You Edmond

  1. I dont even box. But, anybody can see from those videos that he form was awful. This is why big stars must have a manager/advisor who will tell you the truth and watch out for you. In this case, that person was Mom. If she had spent a few years actually learning boxing, she would prob. Still be fighting today. Plus, why stand up, when nobody could beat her on the ground?
