Rare Footage Has Emerged of One of Jay-Z’s Former Bodyguard’s Fighting Bare Knuckle Boxing Legend Bobby Gunn…
Bare-knuckle boxing is having a moment right now. Now that Bare Knuckle FC is firmly established, with an incredibly successful debut in Wyoming, and an upcoming event in Mississippi, the oldest sport in the world is going through a glorious period of revival.
We all know why we like to watch it. It is the rawest and primal of combat sports. Violence between two human beings in its simplest, most stripped back form. The fighters face off without any hand protection, except for some hand wrap, while the knuckles are left uncovered. Broken hands and pulverized faces are absolutely guaranteed.
How did it get so big? Thanks in part to one man called Bobby Gunn. Footage has emerged of the bare-knuckle boxing legend taking on Jay-Z’s former bodyguard Ernest Jackson for the BKB title. This is what really catapulted him into infamy.
Legend
Gunn is a former professional boxer. Hailing from Niagara Falls, Ontario, he won 23 of his 32 professional fights. 20 of those wins came via knockout. He hails from a family of Irish Travellers so you could say that his move into bare-knuckle boxing was a natural progression. His most recent boxing match was a defeat to Roy Jones Jr. That’s random.
A former blue-collar worker, he worked as a mechanic while attempting to continue his fighting career. However, it was a fight against Ernest Jackson that would earn Gunn infamy. He fought Jay-Z’s former bodyguard in a murky, underground setting that would earn him the totally awesome BKB title. You can watch footage from that above, as he beat him in under 9 minutes.

Bare Knuckle FC
Now that Bare Knuckle FC has smashed its way into the world of combat sports, it’s clear that it’s actually a viable option to regular combat sports like boxing and MMA. Gunn has already made his official debut in the new promotion’s first event, held in the Cheyenne Ice and Event’s Center, Wyoming.
He stretched his unbeaten record to 73-0. However, unfortunately, it came about in suspicious circumstances, as his opponent Irineu Beato Costa Jr. appeared to go down despite the fact that the 44-year-old didn’t connect with his punch. Definitely dubious, but hey, the king of bare-knuckle boxing won’t mind.
