UFC lightweight prospect Sage Northcutt was victorious in Norfolk this past Saturday. Watching this epic post-fight interview that got shopped online is just hilarious…

UFC Fight Night 120 delivered with a number of exciting fights Saturday, November 10. Among those walking away with a win was Sage Northcutt.

Having lost two of his last three fights leading up to UFC Fight Night 120, Northcutt needed a win. Since losing to ‘hype killer’ Mickey Gall last December, Northcutt had switched camps to Team Alpha Male.

With losses to Gall and Bryan Barberena, and a victory over Enrique Marin between, Northcutt faced Michel Quiñones in Norfolk. The promotion has spent a fair bit of time and money on the 21-year old prospect, and he delivered with a solid performance.

Utilising body kicks and good footwork, ‘Super Sage’ scored a unanimous decision victory over Quiñones. Currently unranked, Quiñones won’t exactly score Northcutt a title fight, but it was a much-needed win nonetheless.

Fans of Backflips Will Be Ecstatic

What did ‘Super Sage’ have to say for himself after his dominant win? With his usual clean-cut style, Northcutt respectfully addressed the audience. Offering some advice for anyone going through hard times, Northcutt’s super polite persona was on full show.

Although victorious and in a clean fashion, ‘Super Sage’ was not safe from the scalpel of online content surgeons. His post-fight speech was cut and edited with one of the most infamous callouts of all time.

I’m Not Surprised…

In case you’ve been living under a rock, that was Nate Diaz’s challenge to McGregor after his win over Michael Johnson. That iconic interview would serve as a swaying factor to Diaz replacing Rafael dos Anjos at UFC 196.

Diaz would then submit McGregor before dropping a narrow decision to the Irishman at UFC 202. Since then, Diaz hasn’t fought, but McGregor has competed against Floyd Mayweather and Marc Goddard in boxing and Bellator, respectively.
