Mixed Martial Arts is a unique adrenaline rush. There’s no other sport quite like it in the world. It displays the human will to survive. It showcases bravery and courage.
But sometimes, it can be pretty funny at the same time.
Knockouts are a pretty cool thing to see. When fighters just detonate a megabomb on an opponent’s face, it’s pure magic.
Some fighters have great chins, while others not so much. There are instances wherein a fighter is knocked down and pretty much out. But they climb back up to their feet.
Knocked Out? It Ain’t Over ‘Til It’s Over
At Trench Warz 20 which took place at The Warehouse in Chalan Kiya, Saipan, a bizarre thing transpired inside the cage. Two fighters went to war that night, each swinging for the fences.
A head kick dropped one guy, and it was followed by an illegal soccer kick which was supposed to KO him cold. But this guy immediately popped back up to his feet looking to retaliate.
Instead of getting back to the fight however, the downed fighter instead went after the referee. It’s not clear if he knew where he was or what he was doing at this point.
The referee, Frank Camacho, posted the footage on his instagram and included a message for the two fighters. Suffice to say, despite getting attacked, he was impressed by the two warriors in the cage.
Referee Frank Camacho Tells The Tale
“I had the honor of being one of the refs for Trench Warz 20 this past weekend. I had one of the best experiences as a ref and martial arts competitor with this fight in particular,” Camacho wrote in his caption.
“These guys were getting after each other right off the bat. With all the adrenaline running an illegal kick was thrown to the down opponent as you see in the footage.
“Usually fighters cover their heads and pretend to be in antagonizing pain to sway a disqualification win. This fighter was totally opposite of that. He was GAME!

“He had the Chamorro Islander fighting spirit and had no giving up in him even after getting dazed. I just happened to be in front of him as he got back up! LOL. It was an amazing night of fights!
“Si Yu’us Maase @ifamiliaku_mass and the fighters for putting on an amazing show! Yamato Damashii in full effect! LONG LIVE THE ISLAND WARRIORS!”
Camacho has since been praised by random commenters on Instagram for his terrific officiating.
