It’s been a while since we saw Conor McGregor compete at featherweight. Since defeating Jose Aldo for the title at UFC 194, ‘The Notorious’ has fought two times as a welterweight against Nate Diaz.
Following his 13-second destruction of Aldo in Las Vegas, McGregor intended on fighting for the lightweight title. Rafael dos Anjos was the champion at that time, but was injured two weeks out from the fight.
Back to 145?
Nate Diaz came in on 11 days notice and submitted Conor McGregor at UFC 196. The Irishman demanded and was granted an immediate rematch. Eventually defeating Diaz by decision at UFC 202, McGregor has revealed little since August 20.
His future plans have been slightly hinted at by UFC president Dana White. Potential fights with lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez and welterweight legend Georges St-Pierre have ll been rumoured.
McGregor vs. Aldo 2
Ironically the fight people are talking about the least is perhaps the most relevant. Jose Aldo claimed the interim title in Conor McGregor’s absence at UFC 200, and so a unification bout is officially required.
In light of the fireworks of Conor McGregor vs. Jose Aldo 2 potentially being on the way, a wicked promo video has been released…
