UFC anti-hero Nick Diaz is back ladies and gentlemen. The cult icon just got done serving an 18-month sentence from the Nevada Athletic Commission. The controversial decision to ban Diaz for five years was thankfully reduced.
Still, an 18-month punishment for Marijuana metabolites that the NAC wasn’t even able to solidly prove? Many fans and pundits still are angry about that decision. Now the scene is set for Diaz’s big comeback, and there’s some great fights out there.
Tyron Woodley knocked out Robbie Lawler to claim the welterweight title at UFC 201. Talking to the press in the moments after the fight, Woodley mentioned Diaz’s name on the list of potential next fights.
He claimed that Nick Diaz would be a ‘money fight’ and he was more interested in making cash than the rankings. It’s hard to argue with the fact the Diaz brothers are a huge draw, especially after younger brother Nate’s recent win over Conor McGregor.
