Bellator 194 was the offering for MMA fans in the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut, last night. Aside from the quarterfinals of the Bellator 194 grand prix tournament, there were some other potentially exciting fights…

With heavy-hitting 265-pounders Matt Mitrione and Roy Nelson headlining the card, Bellator 194 popped off in Connecticut last night. Unfortunately, it wasn’t the all-out action-packed card we had hoped for.

Positives taken from the event were as follows; BMMA seems to have completely strayed away from the WWE-type unmasking of the Bonnar vs. Ortiz era, their production value is looking sharp and Mike Goldberg is making a great addition.

On the downside, some of the big fights really sucked balls. Heather Hardy and Ana Julaton, two touted boxers, wrestled each other in a lackluster three-rounder. Roy Nelson and Matt Mitrione did box, but it was mediocre at best.

As for the fights that were pretty cool/weird, we have some dope highlights and recaps for you. First of all, there’s this:

Not Entirely Sure What That Was…

135-pounders Michael Kimbell and Geoffery Then squared off, and it was a brutal night for the latter. Kimbell was making his professional MMA debut and he did not hang around in making a big impression.

Then went for an armbar off his back but suffered a huge slam followed by heavy punches for a nasty first-round loss.

Great win by Kimbell:

Big KO’s From The Prelims

Delivering another big knockout on the preliminary section of the card was Regivaldo Carvalho. Squaring off against Tom English at 145 pounds, Carvalho uncorked a picture-perfect right hand that flattened his opponent.

Watch as Carvalho squashes English below:

Aside from the weirdness and heavy KO’s on the prelims, not much really happened at Bellator 194. There was a noteworthy underdog win by Vadim Nemkov against ex-champion Liam McGreary.
