Yes… You Read That Correctly… Tim Kennedy Has Uploaded a Video of Him Being Waterboarded to Prove That It Isn’t Torture…

Tim Kennedy wants to prove to you that waterboarding is not torture. The former UFC middleweight and light-heavyweight contender uploaded a video to Instagram of him being waterboarded and insists that it’s just water being poured on your face.

Kennedy was a big fan-favorite during his days with the UFC. As a military veteran, he won the respect of many fans in the US and beyond. After dropping back-to-back defeats to Kelvin Gastelum and Yoel Romero, he rejoined the Green Berets in 2017.

Now video footage is being shared around the internet of Kennedy being waterboarded. He also has spoken to TMZ about his views on what is officially a torture technique under the terms of the UN Nations Convention Against Torture. Basically, he’s much tougher than me or you.

Crazy Footage

The video shows Kennedy lying back on a table, with a cloth over his face. Meanwhile one of his friends is pouring water onto his face with a hosepipe. Just what you want to do on a nice sunny day. The veteran’s caption said:

“We did this yesterday for almost 45 minutes. The average pour was anywhere from 10 to 60. They wouldn’t tell me when they were going to put the towel on they would just smash it on my face and start pouring.

You can’t hold your breath while they do it because the water runs down your sinuses. The water run through your eyes, down your nose, and pools at the back of your throat. It was a baptism in freedom. It’s not torture!!!! Hell we had elk tacos and wine afterwards.”

Illegal

The practice is officially recognized as illegal by almost every country in the world. It’s been proven to be psychologically damaging. With no disrespect to Kennedy, most tortured detainees won’t be lying out in the sun with the prospect of tacos and wine on the horizon.

“A lot of people have been talking about torture and about waterboarding and what it is that we as a nation have been doing, morally or immorally, but they don’t know anything,” Kennedy told TMZ. “They just have an opinion.”

Respect

However, let’s not forget that Kennedy is a distinguished military veteran. He was part of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom multiple times. He was also awarded a Bronze Star with V device, for valor under fire. He told TMZ:

“I have seen torture firsthand,” Kennedy explained. “I have found people with no fingers. I have seen people with their breasts cut off. I have seen people with their eyelids slit open so they could watch their own families being murdered. That is torture. This is water being poured on your face.”

What Kennedy has seen is much worse than the average human in the west will ever have to deal with. His experiences have to be respected, but at the same time, he’s also a highly trained special operative. Don’t try waterboarding at home.
