Stop hitting yourself…

UFC on FOX 23 went down in Denver, Colorado this past Saturday. The card featured some decent scraps throughout, but the most pivotal was at women’s bantamweight. With a title fight on the line, all eyes were on women’s 135 pounds.

Featured in the main event were Julianna Pena and Valentina Shevchenko. As two of the brightest prospects in the division, it was a tough fight to pick. Pena’s grappling vs. Shevchenko’s striking is how it would be, at least that’s what we thought.

Although ‘Bullet’ was the clear victor, she did have a little help. That’s right, ‘The Venezuelan Vixen’ punched herself in the face FOUR times! Its easy to sit back and laugh at this footage, trust us, but these things happen during fights.

Elsewhere on the card, heavweight prospect Francis Ngannou did a lot of face punching too. ‘The Predator’ destroyed former heavyweight champion Andre Arlovski in just 92 seconds. Jorge Masvidal defeated Donald Cerrone by TKO.
