Ukrainian Superstar Vasily Lomachenko Just Proved That He is Pound-For-Pound the Best Fighter on the Planet Today, as he Dissected Anthony Crolla in Staples Center, Los Angeles…
When we look back in a few years at the career of Vasily Lomachenko, this could be regarded as an era-defining win. Was Anthony Crolla the best fighter the two-time Olympian has ever fought? No. But Crolla ended up on the wrong side of arguably the best knockout ‘Loma’ has produced in his career.
A lot has been made of ‘Hi-Tech’s’ problem with his right shoulder, which has perhaps stifled him slightly in his last couple of fights. Against Crolla he was back to his free-flowing, devastating best, with free-flowing combinations that dissected the former UK champion.
Back at his most natural weight of 135lbs, Lomachenko successfully defended his two titles with a magnificent one-punch KO, that left Crolla sprawled on his face unconscious under the LA night lights. Read on to see the brilliant finish.

Dissected
Like so many of Lomachenko’s previous opponents, Crolla found himself getting taken apart by the quick-footed Ukrainian. The end began in the third round with a phenomenal flurry by ‘Loma’ who really put it on towards the end of the round. Crolla was pressed up against the ropes, unable to escape as punch after punch connected with him.
Suddenly the referee intervened and Lomachenko spun away under the belief that he had won the fight. However, it was not the case, as the situation was correctly ruled a technical knockdown. The ropes kept Crolla from being knocked to the ground, and then he was saved by the bell.

Knockout
When the former WBA champion looks back at this one, he might wish that the fight was stopped in that third round, because what was to come was just pure carnage. Lomachenko sensed blood, and knew that the body was there for the taking. He combined head-body, head-body, head-body, until Crolla dropped his hands at the wrong time.
Then – BANG. A dull thud reverberated around the arena as ‘Loma’ sledgehammered a beautiful right hook into the Manchester fighter’s head. Crolla collapsed straight onto his face and that was all she wrote. It was a seriously impressive and terrifying end to a majestic performance by a fighter who must surely be considered one of the best two in the world right now.

Onwards
It’s a case of onwards and upwards for Lomachenko after getting a mandatory challenger out of the way. After successfully defending his WBA and WBO titles, he’s looking to unite the division and straight away called out Mikey Garcia who holds the WBC title.
Alongside Gervonta Davis, Garcia is the most glamorous potential meanginful opponent out there for Lomachenko. The time is surely right for this fight to happen, and it could be an absolute classic. Garcia is a wounded beast as he recently lost for the first time in his career, losing to Errol Spence after moving up to welterweight. Let’s hope it goes down.
