UFC CEO Dana White wants to make it clear that the company still hasn’t announced the main event of the historic UFC 300 card.

UFC 300 is just two months away, but the promotion still hasn’t completed the card of the said event. According to White, there are still two bouts being prepared. However, the executive’s earlier words suggested that the headline fight had been announced already. White denied the idea.

“Who knows who’s going to be the UFC 300 headliner,” White said during a Power Slap 6 press conference. “It’s been interesting, I can tell you that.”

The executive stressed that the company wants to fill the card with the best fights possible, noting that each bout already confirmed could be considered a Fight Night or PPV main event. Yet, as he stressed, there’s still “that last one” waiting to be announced.

“Obviously, we want to deliver,” added White. “I keep saying this: (Deiveson) Figueiredo vs. Cody Garbrandt is literally the first fight of the night. So when you look at the card how it sits today, every single (fight) could be a main event on a Fight Night or a pay-per-view. We’re just waiting for that last one. We’ve got two more fights we have to put together. We’re working on it.”

With all this, the guessing game about the main event match of the event continues. Jon Jones already dismissed the idea of joining the card, revealing recently that he turned down the headline offer. Meanwhile, Tom Aspinall, who was rumored to face Alex Pereira, said that there’s still no progress about that possibility despite him expressing interest in the bout.
